Leave the Grove and save on gas

I hope the Grove doesn't turn into South Beach, with overpriced gas stations just because they can. Here are current prices as of today at three stations in the area:

BP - $4.29 - Bird and 27th
Shell - $4.19 - 27th and US1
Sunoco - $3.95 - Coral way and 27th

You're actually lucky if you can get gas at BP, they are usually out of gas most of the time.

Coral Way, here I come.

its usually between Sonoco at coral way and 27th or Liberty at coral way and 17th. I think its a liberty. But thats usually the cheapest I've seen in the area.

Actually Coral Way has a nice string of usually cheap stations: Sunoco at 27th, Unity and Liberty at 22nd, Marathon at 17th and another (whose name I don't remember) at 13th.

That BP seems "fishy". They give the impression that they are not there to do any business and make money off of the gas.

The BP on Bird road by the Palmetto(just 4 miles away) has plenty of gas and GREAT prices! How is it that they can not do either?

The station on the north side of Bird at Ponce is usually pretty cheap, too.

Not only is the Shell station expensive, but everytime I go there, there is someone trying to sell me a candle or fill up their tank of gas b/c they are trying to get to their sick grandmother in Homestead. So annoying! How about a little security??

I go wherever is closest at the time I need gas. Most of the time its Shell @ 27th and US-1. Funny that Anon above mentions the salesmen. I was just there an hour ago and got asked to donate.

Any word on getting Zip Cars in the Grove?

www.zipcar.com

The Coconut Grove B.I.C. could agree to bring a Zip Car program to the Grove if they wanted to - by having it's members sign up their employees....it's so easy and what a great way to save $$$ no car insurance, no car payment, no car maintance....and think of the gas we'll save only driving when we really need to!

I suggest that the parking lot behind the Playhouse be used as the Zip Car parking lot.

A very special thank's to all of you out there that elected an Oilman to the office of president.
A Failed oilman no less who ran at least 3 business's into the ground
before he turned to politic's.
Can't wait to hear what the Oil Co.'s are going to pay him for giving a speach after he's out.
Can you say back door kickback?
