Bastille Day plans

With all the French people taking over Commodore Plaza, you would think they would have more going on for Bastille Day, July 14, but it seems that the only thing going on is at George's in the Grove, where they are having a special menu and more tables out on the street, actually in the street, they are going to take up two parking spaces and add extra tables there.

They do have something special happening in the fall, which they want to keep a secret, but I think it has something to do with the elephants and giraffes that Georges used to have at Le Bouchon.

OK. I promise that I will eat at George's and I will tell them I heard about it here .... Grapevine, you are the only blogger in the Grove worth reading and you are certainly in tune to everything Coconut Grove.... But I feel obligated to mention that the plugs for George's have practically taken on a life of their own.

Can't help it if George's has things going on and I promote it. I got about 10 emails this week asking about Bastille Day. So I went up and down Commodore Plaza asking about it. George's is the only place doing something so I blogged it.

Maybe if Cefalo's and Christabelle's would stop slamming the door in my face when I show up, they would get written about, too.

George's and Focaccia treat me like family when I am there, or even when I just walk by, that's why I mention them a lot.

I hope that he keeps the animals out of the mix. Using animals in the summer heat (or really anytime) for the entertainment of people is really inhumane. Ric O'Barry, where are you?
(A real Grovite knows who Ric O'Barry is. It's on the "So you think you're a Grovite" test.)

Le Bouchon is also having something for Bastille Day. I think they have a special menu too. They have had it written on their wall for a couple months now.

In the fall it's called Le Beaujolais, the 3rd Thursday of November and it means "the first grape". That's when everyone dances on the tables. One of my favorite times to eat at Le Bouchon!

Richard O'Barry the famous Flipper trainer and now dolphin activist, has worked both sides of dolphin street, the first 10 years with the dolphin captivity industry, the past 30 years against them.

Tony,
It's being developed. The next question on the test is who wrote the book "Scornography by Pornavacca"?
