Anokha tried to open last night

Rohit Patel and Nick Patel owners of Anokha Indian Restaurant, flank guests Mike and Jacqueline Menendez, that's chef Bavesh Patel, in white, behind them.

Anokha sort of had their opening last night, but some permit issues kept them from serving guests, so they offered samples and appetizers, along with drinks to those who showed up.

We'll keep you posted on when they will open for sure. As you know, Anokha moved from their Commodore Plaza location to a larger new place at 3324 Virginia Street, right across from the Mayfair Hotel.

Some of the samplings last night: Duck Samosa, rice with goat curry, Spinach and Paneer Samosa.

Be sure to let us know when they officially open - they are nice people and really try hard to please.

I hope they can stay open ... tough location. Restaurant 101 is location location location. That plaza can't keep anything open. Hopefully their amazing food will be enough. Good luck.
