The street name game

Tony Scornavacca, Jr. has this website called YourGrove.org where he is looking for names for Grove streets that are numbers now, rather than names.

Apparently, it isn't that hard to have a street name or number changed if you pay for it. Secoffee Terrace used to be 27 Terrace before neighbors paid $55.00 each to the city for the name change.

To make your suggestions, check out
www.YourGrove.org.

I like a couple already, Grapefruit Lane and Mango Way.

Thank you Grapevine. By the way, anybody can make suggestions for the names of the streets. You don't have to live there.

However, streets should not be named for living persons. Let's not forget the lesson we should have learned with Jose Conseco Way.

That would be awesome if there was an actual sign that said "Sarnoff Circle" at that one on Virginia.

When you said, "The neighbors paid $55 each", did that mean everyone on the street had to pay? That would suck.

Looks like Tony is also asking about CG being an independent city. What's that about?

Tony, I and others have had meetings on this and there is a file dating back a long way with all streets named and some petitions signed. Can I work with you on this. I stopped progress on it when the effort was begun and underway to get 28St and 27th Lane closed heading toward 27th Ave.
