Grants given to businesses; some turned down
The City wisely rejected one large grant to fund more black information booths along Grand Avenue. I can't believe after all the controversy over the first three that someone would have the nerve to ask for thousands of dollars for more.
I would love to know the person or people who had the kutzpah to ask for money for this. Talk about throwing money away -- grant money at that. Glad the City Commission used their brains this time.

I think the kiosks that were being requested by Village West were vendor kiosks where they could sell Bahamiam goods and also give out information at the same time - similar to the kinds of kiosks that Cocowalk has in their courtyard.
The proposed new kiosks were commercially oriented and they were meant to encourage Grand Avenue and Village West businesses.
