Chicken soup, ceviche and jazz

We went down to Pisco's Seafood Bar and Grill (3310B Mary Street) with my mother-in-law because she was not feeling too well and we wanted to get her a chicken soup (they make great chicken soup). It was Joe Donato night. We had a great time and Joe and company (his very talented wife, plus the Brian Murphy trio and special guests Jack Siegel (with a mini-me trumpet -- actually called a pocket trumpet) and vocalist Daniel McLoud, and another fabulous musician from Brazil (by way of Sicily), performed so that we ended up staying until 11 pm, mother-in-law included.
I urge any jazz lover who has not been there to go, in fact, any ceviche lover who has not been there to go, and even if you do not love ceviche, there is plenty of generic fare -- from pasta to filet mignon, to keep any palate happy. Owner Alberto has great staff -- very attentive. Best of all you can enjoy the music and not have your ears blasted off.
All those people who complain about the Grove going the way of noise culture with intelligible heavy bass music blasting from cars, needs to know that if they want to take back the Grove, they have to get out there and do it, and Thursday nights at Pisco's are the way to go. Go out there and support Alberto at Pisco's, and support Joe as a thank you for promoting the jazz lifestyle we love. We should aim for this to be the norm in the Grove not just Thursdays, but every night!

I agree that Pisco's has great food. The staff is also very friendly and informative. Now I just gotta head over there on a Thursday!
