Update on Charlie Brown

From Ron Beasley:

"Just a note to advise that I went to visit Charlie yesterday at the RTC at JMH. Suffice it to say that he does not look good. Those kids really did a number on him with those bricks. I believe it will be quite some time before they release him from the hospital and when they do, he will probably need some type of assisted living facility. He is awake, though, and recognized me. He shook my hand when I left and his grip was strong. So, there is some positive news to report."

I find something totally ironic about the Charlie Brown attack story.

This happened within feet of the black info/security booth on Main Highway. Where was the Kent security guy then? Giving directions to some some tourist on the nearest toilet? (Follow the tour bus and you'll find the toilets in the Grove).

Lets put the cops or security back on the horses like the old days and use that as an info/security device. The cops and horses add a lot of charm, too.

Think about it, the police on horseback or on bicycles would not have been in the Grove in the middle of the night, The kiosks are not open 24 hours. Hopefully at some point this victim will be able to give details and relate how this happened. There was an abduction of a kid in the park with an officer 300 feet away.

Think about this .. Charlie Brown was attacked in the early morning, around 7 a.m., not in the middle of the night.

Man the booths or don't man the booths. Don't do it half assed. Maybe Charlie should check the schedule of the kent security guards before he takes a walk next time.

I don't care what time it happened. It's a damn shame. No one deserves to be attacked. Poor guy.

And no, not everyone out at 4am is up to mischief. I'm off to work at that hour, often on my bike, and there are immense numbers of runners before the sun comes up, too.

7AM. IT HAPPENED T 7 AM! NOT 4 AM, NOT MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.

...AND THE KID IN THE PARK WAS NOT ABDUCTED. SOME CRAZED TRANSIENT PICKED HER UP UP HIS BIKE, AND THERE ARE MIXED ACCOUNTS AS TO THE ACTUAL "ABDUCTION," BY SOME WHO WERE THERE AND CLAIM THE GUY WAS JUST BRINGING HER BACK OVER THE DECKING THAT BRIDGES THE 2 PARTS OF THE PARK.

HE WAS ON A BIKE, AND THE NANNIES STILL CAUGHT UP TO HIM ON FOOT- SO HE WAS NOT RACING OFF, AND AT THE END OF THE DAY THERE WAS NO ABDUCTION!

THEN THERE IS THE FACT THAT THE MOTHER OF THE KID JUST SO HAPPENS TO RUN A PROGRAM THAT TEACHES NANNIES AND OTHER CARE TAKERS HOW TO DEAL WITH CRISES SUCH AS THIS, AT $160 A POP. HER WEBSITE WAS ON THE EMAILS THAT SHE SENT AROUND IN HOT PINL TYPE. HARD TO MISS. WEIRD COINCIDENCE? ONLY IN THE GROVE, I GUESS.

MORE OF A TIZZY HAS BEEN MADE ABOUT THIS SUPPOSED ABDUCTION THAN ABOUT THE VERY REAL BRICK ATTACK ON THIS INDIVIDUAL, WHICH HAS APPARENTLY RUINED HIS HEALTH AND HIS LIFE. IT COULD HAVE BEEN ANY ONE OF US, JOGGING IN THE MORNING, WALKING THE DOG, OR GOING FOR COFFEE... BUT LET'S JUST KEEP PLAYING THAT DOWN AND KEEP MAKING A BIG DEAL ABOUT THE KID THAT DID NOT GET KIDNAPPED!

enough already.

There are no coincidences, so we had best pay attention and try to gain something positive from the hard lessons of life. We've all heard it before, that everything happens for a reason...

We can't depend on others to "protect us". It's an illusion really. Just always try to pay attention, be aware, don't be a victim, look out for your own self, and always, always, help others you see in need. If a "professional law enforcement official" is present to provide assistance that's great, but it's ridiculous to count on it.

Prayers for Charlie, and for his merciless attackers.

As we all agree, there is not enough police presence in the Grove, otherwise there would not be crimes such as the one committed against Charlie. I know that the CVS Pharmacy has been told by the city numerous times that they have to have more security. As per those Kent "security" guys, I have to say that every day several times a day I go up and down Grand Avenue and I have yet to see the "security" guys. In the other hand the nannies were probably trying to cover their behind with the "abduction" story since, we all know that they all go to the park to talk among each other and forget the little one.

I hadn't heard other news about this. When did it happen and what were the reported circumstances?
Really disturbing news.

It happened March 5th before 6:30 am. He was found at Greenstreet by the manager opening up who called the police. They think it happened at the Barnacle. Police report #0815815. The Herald was too busy running articles about a homeless Broward man that was attacked that week to mention anything about Charlie (even though they were called and given details). Please pray for Charlie.
