Windish-Hunt Fine Art Gallery a success

Art in the Grove . . .who would have thought! Commissioner Mark Sarnoff joined Grove artists Fred Hunt, Karen Deilke, Annamaria Windisch-Hunt, and Audrey Scott at Windisch-Hunt Fine Art Gallery (2911 Grand Avenue) on Friday night.

This exciting exhibition of contemporary artists is staged in the space formerly occupied by The Limited in The Mayfair. Windisch-Hunt, the founding director of The One Ear Society has turned her attention to this latest project in her ongoing crusade to restore the spirit of the
Old Grove.

I didn't write the press release here, I printed it as it was sent.

Okay, didn't know, won't shoot the messenger... but doesn't someone have to be responsible for content?

It's nice to have a politician interested, or at least making appearances in/to our community events, no?

How is this a put down of any kind? Not quite sure what you are reading in this.

Annamarie sent me the photo and I think she was totally proud to have Marc there. Where do you see a problem here? Where do you see a put down?

Are you always so negative the first thing in the morning?

Was something misread here?
The commentary with the photo was a positive observation about art taking a rightful place in the heart of this community as it once was not just at festival time.
This is an opportunity for artists like Fred Hunt to shine. The "who would have thought" was lighthearted sarcasm referencing the absence of art galleries while national retailers command a presence.
In response to the remark about responsibility for content. Are comments limited to what this particular reader agrees with or in this case NOT?The Grapevine did not provide the release nor did Annamaria, I did.

Dear Jane,
Please take no offense. This blog is flypaper for cranks and gripes. The Grape need only whisper the words Home Depot, tree removal or 5 am closings and the place goes bananas.

Dear Jane,

Your "who would have thought lighthearted sarcasm" has led to an obvious non-meeting of the minds. I am sure, as you well know, that sarcasm is a dangerous and oft easily misinterpreted method of the english language if not handled delicately, with skill and objectivity.

As far as I can tell, there is plenty of "art in the Grove," on any given day, and most especially on the very weekend preceding the world-renowned Coconut Grove Arts Festival! So "who would have thought!"

Sorry, still don't get it – Commissioner Mark Sarnoff comment aside.

Loved the exhibition though. Excellent caliber presentation - SOHO style even, sans the Prosecco.

Don't get me started on home Depot, or tree removals! :)
