Three more Grove items added to agenda
1) Sign Ordinance - deals with posters and signs illegally posted.
2) Handbill Ordinance - deals with postcard type advertising scattered as litter.
3) Upzoning for a proposed hotel of between 16-20 stories at 2660 Brickell Ave. - the entrance to Key Biscayne. These developers just never get enough. They just do not give a crap about quality of life. More, more, more, more. . . . they sicken me. Is this terrible real estate climate not enough of a sign of their greed? How can any fool be for more density?

Do you suppose the building on Brickell will prevent runners/bikers from using that street? If so, I think we can rally thousands of people to fight it.
Excellent agenda items.
Excess signage is an eyesore.
The club flyers are a problem because the method used for "passing them out" is actually just throwing them on the sidewalk and hoping someone picks one up.
The hi-rise on Brickell? No city is in need of another hi-rise but if one were to be built wouldn't Brickell Avenue be the appropriate place?
After living here in the Grove since the 50's, I have accepted the fact that our government is not going to stop approving these buildings.
Don't use baseless attacks on density as if it is inherently evil. Instead, learn to be critical of proposed development projects based on elements that make them high, medium, or low-quality. That's not to say that I support this new project in any way, shape, or form. It's just that making density out to be an inherent villain is extremely simplistic and runs totally counter to best practice urban planning policy.
