BIC to BID -- not yet
The effort to turn the Grove Business Improvement Committee (BIC) into a BID -- Business Improvement District is hitting some bumpy roads. Basically money issues.
BIC members are concerned about where the money would go. Would their current reserves and the money regularly collected for cafe fees, parking surcharges and other items go directly to the BID or will the city step in and use some of the money for other projects not related to the Grove?
Also, assessments will be required, but first the city needs to let the group know what they will be responsible for and what the BID will be resonsible for (like sanitation, security, etc.)
The November vote for or against the BID may be postponed to a later date.
