Post office problems

It seems that the post office people have no qualms about killing trees, but the employees are another story. I was there today and someone who works there had a little talk with me outside as I was leaving.

I heard that there is asbestos upstairs at the post office, the roof is caving in and it is so bad that the men's locker room has been closed off. On top of that, most of the area is not even air conditioned, just the old side that used to house the movie theater.

The asbestos markers on the floor upstairs also have been painted over -- literally painted over so you cannot see the areas where asbestos was found.

Remind me not to breathe the air there. Hell -- remind me not to go there period.

There are some of the nicest Postal employees at the Grove. One week, I ended up going in there 4 days in a row...all with my 2 year old in tow. Each time I was there, he would end up crying for one reason or another. I asked him why he always cries at the Post Office, and an employee leaned over to my boy and said "Don't worry honey, I do."

I guess I see why now!!!!!!

asbestos is not harmful unless it is disturbed and becomes airborne. you will find that it actually harms/kills very few people each year in the US. it was and still is a scam created by government agencies and lobbyists and has resulted in the creation of a multi million dollar industry for asbestos abatement contractors, mold is very similar issue. in other words, don't worry about the post office (or god forbid their lack of AC).

I had to go there yesterday, too, to sign for a package. Sheesh, what a mess -- 20 long-faced customers in line with only three employees working the counter, the treeless, fenced-off parking lot looking forlorn and ugly... I just kept wondering why we don't privatize the whole damn operation.

Let's ignore the asbestos and air conditioning, and kill the trees. The federal government way of doing things.

This is exactly the opposite of what the Founding Fathers intended for our country. It's a loss of states' rights and domination by big central government. It's unconstitutional.

The state should only permit federal government usage of property subject to state and local law, requiring federal government to abide by these laws. It's time for states to wake up and change the way this system works.

And people want the federal government to provide for our health care. Sheesh.

This may come as a shock to SWLIP, but the federal government already provides healthcare. It's called Medicare.
