27th Ave. saga continues

There had been a discussing going back and forth about the power lines along 27th Ave. during the renovations. Residents wanted them buried since they were required to be moved out of the easement, but as storm weary residents know after checking, the cost is quite high to bury the lines, so FPL wants to just move the concrete poles back.

But the Cocoanut Grove Village Council unanimously voted last week to have the lines buried and they would like the city and/or county and FPL to pay all costs. They feel that eventually the lines will be buried and it makes no sense to put new poles in only to have them removed in the near future.

If we are "improving" 27th, it only makes sense to bury them. Why spend millions and do a half ass job.

If there is any question on it, let the public decide !! In fact I already pay ridiculous amounts of property tax. Would be nice to see my money used smart, but then again this is Miami. I am well aware where my money is not used properly !
