Burnin' up the Grove

"Burn Notice" just wrapped their very successful first season and will be back in the Grove for a second season. Unlike "CSI Miami," the show, which airs on the USA network Thursday nights at 10 pm, is filmed locally, based at the Expo Center right here in the Grove. It was actually retrofitted to be a movie studio for filming. You can see the exterior of the house above, which is actually inside the Expo Center.

The crew of over 100 (shown here with stars Jeffrey Donovan (in black center) and Gabrielle Anwar (next to Jeff), are mostly locals, all glad to learn that the show has been picked up for a second season. Filming for season 2 begins in January.

This is great news! It's cool to see that (unlike any other "Miami" show), the actors have honest-to-goodness SWEAT on them - now THAT'S Miami!

This is fantastic! This will help put Coconut Grove on the map again!

Hopefully this will encourage other productions to flock to South Florida.

Kudos to Robert Parente and his staff for helping to make all this possible.

Yes, please tell Ms. Anwar that my condo would be a great location for a private dinner/intimate scene.

Damn, there I go thinking out loud again...

That's great. But I plan on being in the area in December. Too bad it's not then. Oh well, guess a trip in January is needed. Congrats to the show, cast, crew and everyone else involved. Great show.

Fantastic news. I hope Burn Notice runs for years. Great scenery and witty dialogue.

And Gabrielle Anwar is hot, and not just due to the August weather in Miami.

No need to change your trip Anonymous. It isn't filmed in front of a live audience. It's filmed like a movie at various locations throughout the county on closed sets. The public is not able to watch the filming.
