Related sends Vizcayans a letter

The Related Group sent a long, 2-page letter to the Vizcayans asking them to stop their lawsuit. Here is one paragraph:

"Your organization has already spent considerable funds towards the lawsuit as is evidenced by the enormous amount of paper served by the Vizcayans legal team to date. We are now entering the most expensive phase of the lawsuits (discovery and depositions). The time to stop is now."

Wow! What a desperate attempt... intimidation? Maybe they know that there is no Judge that would rule in favor of Spot Zoning? I hope that the Grove comes together on this and supports the Vizcayans. That will show Related that they do have the financial and community support on this lawsuit. Let's see who gets tired first!

I've read the entire letter. Looks to me like the related folks are desperate! If it were not so, they would just sit back, win the lawsuits and build away. What are they afraid of? That a citizen group of volunteers might actually beat them at the game? I can't wait for the celebration when they learn they cannot buy their way out of this one.

Does Related really think the Vizcayans hadn't thought about this before they filed their lawsuit? I wonder why Jorge didn't sign the letter!
I am just tired of these wealthy developers shoving these projects down our throats and because they have the money, we have to accept it. Keep up the good work Vizcaya.

Related is so sleazy. And Jorge Perez is a coward for not signing the threatening letter sent on his Related letterhead. After all he owns the company. How can those people look themselves in the mirror?

I hope the Vizcayans keep fighting because otherwise Related will just keep getting more and more sites surrounding Vizcaya rezoned. I am sure Related wants to put a high rise on the Museum of Science site. Of course those idiots at Miami-Dade County will let them. It would be nice if all the attorneys working to protect the neighborhoods could charge reduced fees. We promise to give them great publicity.

Jorge Perez is a low life immigrant who came to this country to rape it. He has NO appreciation for the United States for taking him in and in return he plows over every American citizen that stands in his way. He is a disgrace. He is the devil. His greed will due him in. Mark my words.

Wow...you guys are more personal than we are at Eyeonmiami....same subject...turned down a notch... But, still in support of the brave Vizcayans -- let's hold a fundraiser!!!!!! We can hold it in the Home Depot parking lot. I think of Jorge as a success story but now it is his time to turn around and give to the community not plunder it. Plunder time is over in Miami and anyone who doesn't see that is blind.

He should think more like Bill Gates at this time of his life. He is acting like Donald Trump instead. Be a Hero George! You don't need these big stupid towers, make them the same size as the hospital tower, and everyone will be happy. You will make money, granted, not as much as you want, but the profit will be there...don't be so damn greedy.

I blame that damn catholic church with the predator priests ....and this hospital needs upgrades song and dance is a crock of shit.

I vote for a fundraiser. It is always great visiting Vizacaya. Let's have it there.

According to Forbes Magazine Jorge Perez is worth $1.8 Mil. When is enough enough?

Perhaps in a dictionary under "greed" there is a picture of Jorge Perez? Or maybe he is the Darth Vader of Miami?

If you see Rosario Kennedy, Alicia Cuervo or "Stuttering" Bill Thompson thank them for their efforts to pave everything in the Grove. Why do they hate single family homes so much?

It is not that they hate single family neighborhoods, those people will say anything to stay on Jorge Perez's payroll.

Pave the Everglades? No problem. just keep those checks coming. Replace Mayfair with a hazardous waste site? No problem, just keep those checks coming. Demo Vizcaya for another Related high rise? No problem.

August 2007
Recent Court decision favoring residents and neighborhoods over overly large mega real estate projects on the Miami River will hopefully be used to defeat Related and Mercy and their goal to pave the Grove waterfront and change its R1 zoning to R4 zoning.

How could Related have gotten 3 out-of-area Commisioners to vote against the Grove?
