We all appreciate their service. I hope they resolve the homeless problems that are hurting the businesses and tourism. Fear factor is high. The police presence is low.

Get real! Homeless problems? How the hell can a bunch of self absorbed yuppies whose main concern is loose bricks in the village sidewalk possibly solve the South Florida housing crisis?!

I suggest the Village Council members venture outside of the gates of their oversized "townhouses," purchase a copy of James Howard Kunstler's "The Long Emergency,"
curl up next to their bath tub pools and contemplate where they think they can move to find safety and solice because it will never be Coconut Grove!

Now that's the spirit. Offer a solution instead of being so negative. The Grove has a lot of potential. It just needs better police presence, lighting, cleanliness AND ENFORCEMENT OF THE NON LOITERING LAWS which are on the books and will make the homeless move on to an area that does not enforce the laws. Also, a new waterfront park would be nice, but the way things work in Miami, at a snails pace compared to normal cities, I won't hold my breath.
