Glad rag, shill
"Clue No. 1 that this thing stinks is the fact that Miami Monthly, the glossy Coconut Grove glad-rag put out by consistent Diaz/Arriola/Johnny Winton booster and Related Group shill Elena Carpenter, has, as its July cover story, an article written by publisher Carpenter and her editor titled “Robbing the City Blind.”

Ms. Carpenter wants you to report to her office. Immediately.
I like the MIami Monthly mag, but it is strange how a MAJOR story would be leaked to that little mag with hardly any reach as opposed to a major paper or news station. Sounds like a sad attempt at a cover up and deflection-of-blame. I think the top officials are/were definitely in on everything. If it looks like a turd, smells like a turd, and floats like a turd, chances are its a turd.
My thoughts exactly. Ms Carpenter and her Miami Monthly Magazine, the Arriola/Winton cheerleaders, were being used to do damage control by "unindicted co-conspiritors".
Who felt quilty? Who needed the cover? Who was protecting the criminals while they stole from the City of Miami? Who will be indicted next?
Just read the article in MM. Unbelievable how stupid these people are. They had to know they were going to get caught eventually. I hope they all get the max penalty. This city needs a MAJOR overhaul, starting from the top. One funny thing I noticed about the article and the pics of those who screwed our city and country. Check out their last names... All very similar. No wonder why this city is such a disgrace.
Dear Fed up - Is the other crook's name spelled Wintonez or is it possible that there are seedy folks of all races?
Who fed Miami Monthly the story? How did lowly Miami Monthly get all the information? Who is being protected?
Who will do the perp walk next?
Geez, if MM discovers how much love is out there they may just quit flinging those plastic bags all over the neighborhoods every month.
Don't you just love Rebeccah?
She hits the nail on the head every time.
You mean Rebecca Wakefield, who is a columnist for Miami SunPost? She wrote a column about the oddity of Miami Monthly being handed a corruption story. Rebecca Wakefield, and others, want to know the back story. Any takers?
What shocked me more than anything about the Firm is that the City of Miami has set up an office under the title of Capital Improvement Projects to basically spend money allocated to making capital improvements.
What prompted the investiagation is that the office was not spending enough!
So the next time the state legislature wants to cut our property taxes, tell the teachers, police & fire fighters unions to shut up and go to dip into the the unused capital improvement fund.
It is amazing how the rest of America has to operate with limited resources, but government is entitled to unlimited funds from our labor.
The Silky Pony, John Edwards is correct, there are TWO Americas.
I am not surprised there are crooks in city government. Government by nature does not have much accountability and therefore it breeds corruption, no matter the ethnicity of the last name.
I am not a huge Manny Diaz supporter, but I suspect if the Mayor's name in Miami was Smith and not Diaz, complaints about corruption in Miami would be overlooked.
You would be incorrect. Corruption should lead to indictments no matter who gets arrested and no matter how high up the corruption goes.
There should be zero tolerance.
The taxpayers must be respected or perp walks will result.
Now our tax money is being spent to pay for private investigators to investigate city employees who are not doing their jobs and ripping us off. What do the supervisors get paid to do? When will this STOP?
