Crime Watch Meeting Update
The All-Grove Crime Watch met at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church on April 11, 2007, with approximately 40 attending. Meetings will now be held the second Wednesday of each month at St. Stephen's (2750 McFarlane Road) at 7 pm.
Police Chief Timoney, Deputy Chief Fernandez, Commander Martin and NROs Braga & Carpenter all presented information about crime activity and crime prevention for Grove residents. There are many empty homes presently, and these homes become the homes of criminals. Please notify police immediately if you see ANY suspicious activity around vacant homes.
If you witness an incident in progress or need immediate help - Dial 911 immediately.
If you see suspicious behavior or want to report a crime, call the non-emergency number 305/579-6111, give details of suspicious activity and request a marked unit. TRY to be as patient as possible with questioning dispatchers, then AFTER you call the 305/579-6111 number, you can contact NRO Braga (cell: 786-486-1488) or Off. Carpenter (cell 786-556-7646).
There was a lot of talk about how to protect your home when you go away. For a full report on the past meeting, please email Robert Loupo at rloupo@aol.com . They had a lot of good ideas and with summer coming, many people will be traveling, so now would be a good time to brush up on home safety.

The meetings are great! I would love to see more people from my area come out. I would like to hear from more of those that I contacted. Hope you're reading this!
