It's coming
The Coconut Grove Arts Festival tents are going up along S. Bayshore and McFarlane. I can hear the Jaws music playing now. I know many neighbors who live right in the immediate area are shuddering at the thought of the traffic, crowds and noise, but most people are looking forward to the yearly event. The weather is supposed to be fantastic, so grab a sweater (maybe even a leather jacket this weekend), grab some friends and dive in. Might as well enjoy.

i went to a similar 'art fest' last weekend in north beach. many of the same artists. free admission. free parking. free music. right on the beach. much better food. who needs the coconut grove hassle?
that art fest was no where near as good as the grove one. i thought it sucked actually.
" Art at Mayfair" is going to be an adjunct Mini Fest. A bit like Ann Arbor Michigan where 7 festivals take place sponsored by various cultural groups beside the 3 main events.
"Art at the Mayfair" is sponsored by the One Ear Society which had their gallery at Mayfair for seven years. The artists have been hand picked. Some have previously been in the Grove Show couple in St. Stephen and some from last years Shake a Leg, which was shut down this year. The Children's Museum is participating in the Atrium. Music will be both at the Fountain Area and inside the Atrium
and as in previous years Fred Hunt and AnnaMaria Windisch Hunt and Irmaly Bracken will be Outside on Mary St.
This should be a very interesting show as the CGAF has gone to a new application process called
Zapplication. Artist who make their living for years years are for the first time competing with the much younger computer literate artists.
