Very disappointing. As a long time Grove resident, I do remember the original Art Festivals (and still have the pix to prove it). This was nowhere in that league at all. Looked positively rinky-dinky, I'm sorry to say. Perhaps next year it will grow a bit more.
I had a wonderful time. As a ten year resident, I found it fun, free and a local event. I encourage more of these "rinky-dinky" events.
People, ignore the first sour puss comment. It was a delightful event. Very low-key and sweet.
I've lived in the Gables since 1981. Sorry, but it was a sad event. By being spread out all over the place, many just looked lost and forlorn.
I also remember the first Art Festivals with a lot of nostalgia.
What made them good (and what this event did not have) was a graphic or theme unity. If, for example, they had put the different artists closer together, or had some kind of focus on Peacock Park, the event would have been much better.
Perhaps the organizers should consider this for next year.
I went both days, Saturday and Sunday, walked around and all that and, frankly, I thought it was poorly done.
