Quiet corner

The old Borders Books location looks so desolate these days. It's a shame all the activity that was there is now gone. Too bad there is not much parking in the area, it would be an excellent location for Publix.

The lack of adequate parking is precisely why that whole Mayfair complex is a white elephant.

Exactly what is going on with that complex on that end? No Borders, no movie theater, no Improv... what, then?

It is a shame. I used to enjoy that Borders and would go to that movie theater a lot (as well as Martini Bar - damn, but I loved going there!).

I think that the only significant tenant there is Crispin, Porter & Bogusky, an ad agency.

The whole thing ought to be bulldozed and made into a park, or a holding pen for Miami city officials.

Looks like the Grove is becoming a cultural waste land
No more bookstores, no more art galleries. Did anyone realize that the One Ear Society actually lasted four (4 more years) that the original Grove House. Gallery Vincent was the last gallery to close in July of 2005.
CocoWalk lost their gallery in May 2005. Commodore Plaza lost two plus the small independent book store. The remaining galleries, are due to good stewardship of their owners who own the buildings on Commodore Plaza.
