The St. Stephen's Art Show and MakersFest unveiled their poster art Thursday night. This year's artist is Jill Whitney-Birk.
Now in its 31st year, the show connects fine art and makers/crafters/musicans experiences.
The free show is February 15 to 17 and runs along with the Coconut Grove Arts Festival which is right outside the St. Stephen's show.
“In 2018 we introduced the MakersFest section and were wowed by the response” said Show Director Daisy Holcombe. “The combination of fine art, music makers and indie crafters was a hit.” Above at right is Daisy along with artist Jill Whitney-Birk, unveiling the art at the Nepenthe Garden at St. Stephens.
The MakersFest at St. Stephen's Art Show is a hand crafted experience of sound, color and flavor. Unique Artists, music makers and crafters are producing original works of art combining traditional techniques with modern, unconventional styles, contexts and subject matters.
“This last year was the epitome of what Coconut Grove can do when they focus on being both intimate and international” said 20 year veteran artist Marv Murphy.
Both posters this year, St. Stephen's and the Grove Arts Festival poster seem to reflect decoupage and a lot of digital images, which are quite different than posters from previous years. Here are previous years' poster unveiling events and the posters for those years.
