Outdoor Movie & Dinner at Vizcaya

Spend time with the family in Vizcaya Village during this rare evening family program. Enjoy art-making, story telling and cooking demos all about food before sitting down together for a community meal.

Then watch a family movie about - you guessed it - food and enjoy s'mores for dessert.

Good food, good company, good times. Does it get any better?

Vizcaya has this special night planned for Friday, February 7, starting at 6:30 pm.

The agenda looks like this:

6:00 pm - DOORS OPEN
Work up an appetite as you explore Vizcaya Village with any (or all) of the following:

Art-making inspired by the architecture of Vizcaya Village. You'll be working with each other, but under the guidance of artist Philippa Langrish, so no experience needed.

Storytelling by good friends The Spoken Word Exchange will showcase food in a new and exciting way.

A mini cooking demo with the chefs at Wellness in the Schools, inspired by crops grown on site historically and designed to be easy, quick and healthy so you can do them again at home.

6:30 pm - REGISTRATION CLOSES

7:00 pm - DINNER
Sit down for dinner at a harvest table set for 120 in front of the Staff Residence building. You’ll get a taste of local history enjoying dishes based on foods originally grown on this historic farm.

7:45 pm - MOVIE

Following dinner, move to the Garage Forecourt for an outdoor movie screening. Bring picnic blankets and cushions to get comfy. Leave room for dessert as s’mores will be served while watching the film.

Tickets are $20 general admission; $10 for children 6 to 12. Get them here.

Vizcaya is at 3250 S. Miami Avenue.
