Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart is having an open house. Join the El Jardin's Centennial Anniversary on Saturday, February 10 and enjoy a rare look inside one of South Florida's treasures.
From 10 am to 1 pm enjoy the open house tour; at 11 am there is a guest lecture. Joanna Lombard, AIA, LEED AP, an architect, author and professor at the University of Miami School of Architecture will discuss the significance of El Jardin's design.

Built in 1918 by Pittsburgh Steel president John Bindley and designed by noted architect Richard Kiehnel, El Jardin is considered one of Miami's finest examples of the Mediterranean Revival style. The property, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, has been home to Carrollton since 1961.
Iroincally, Richard Kiehnel designed the Coconut Grove Playhouse, too.
