White Tiger & Dragon celebrating new home

The non-stop development in and around Coconut Grove has pushed out the White Tiger & Dragon Martial Arts center from their location near Shell Lumber, but the good news is that they found a location nearby.

Carol White, owner, has been a Grove resident since 1995. She got to know many of the locals when she ran Scotty's Landing.

"I started my martial arts academy inside of Grove fitness back in 2000. Since then we have taught thousands of Coconut Grove kid's, teens and adults. We operate on a sliding scale never turning a child away that wishes to benefit from the martial arts," says Carol.

In 2OO7 they moved to their present dojo located at 2460 SW 28th Lane. Recently a big developer bought half of their block forcing them to find another home quickly. What once was known as "Fitness Alley" of the Grove will now be yet another storage facility.

"Our school fought hard to stay in the Grove and we won! We started banging on doors until one finally opened. We have building a school from scratch located at 3051 SW 28th Street," said Carol.  They are now right next door to Bay Plumbing.

They will be having a sneak preview of the new dojo and a Grand Opening extravaganza this Saturday, June 3 from 11:0O am. till 3:00 pm. This  event is open to the public.
