Michael Hornyak, a Grovite stopped me today in the street and told me about his Christmas lights. He suggested that it might be a good idea to spread holiday cheer by showing the lights around the Grove. I think that's an excellent idea. I was going to drive around and take photos, but maybe it might be a better idea to have people send me their own photos of their houses, so this way I'm not just taking pictures and randomly posting them. This is Michael's house.
If you would like to share your house, send them to me via email or tag the Grapevine in Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Let us know what street the lights/house is on, not the address, but just the street.
"A lot of people that come by mention that they didn't even realize our yard was so decorated until someone told them about it, or until they happened to see the glow when they passed by on Matilda. There might be other light displays in the Grove that people aren't aware of, and maybe including them in the Grapevine will let people know they don't necessarily have to travel out of the village to see lights," said Michael.
"Our lights are best seen on foot so you can see all the motion and changing colors. All of our lights and those of our neighbor that also goes all out are on by around 5:45 each evening. Right now, ours go off around 11:00 pm, but there's a good 5+ hour window when they're on. In addition to the lights, there are a number of inflatables that the kids particularly seem to like," he continued.
Michael's house is on Lime Court.
