Miami Parking Authority (MPA) once again gets in the holiday spirit with the return of its popular “Holiday Parking Courtesy Citation Program” to help customers avoid parking tickets.
Created over a decade ago, the program will be in effect every day, 24 hours a day, from Monday, December 19, 2016 through January 2, 2017.
It applies to all on-street parking spaces managed by MPA. All customers who purchase parking at a single-space meter, a Pay and Display master meter, or via Pay-by-Phone, will be eligible. Once their parking has expired, they will receive a special Holiday Courtesy Citation explaining that they have been granted up to one free hour of parking beyond their expiration time.
“The Holiday Parking Courtesy Citation Program has become a tradition at MPA. It is one of our ways of saying thank you to our customers as well as supporting the local business community by making parking more convenient during the shopping rush,” said Alejandra Argudin, Chief Operations Officer of MPA. “It allows customers the extra time to go about their business without the added stress of expired parking.”
Notably, customers who use Pay-by-Phone to park in the city of Miami no longer incur a $.35 fee for the use of the service. Two years ago, MPA became the only parking agency in Florida to absorb the mobile payment technology’s convenience fee. Residents of the city of Miami also receive a 20% discount when using Pay-by-Phone.
