Lighting the town Christmas tree

The Coconut Grove tree lighting was held Saturday night. The weather was perfect and hundreds came out for the fun. Commissioner Ken Russell and Monty Trainer did the honors with Santa Claus at their side. The snow made all the difference. 

Here Commissioner Russell starts the count down. He asked Santa for a new skateboard, apparently his wife threw out his old one ever since he fell off and broke his arm!

Virginia Street was closed off to traffic and a small holiday village, perfect for families, was there all afternoon into the evening. 

School children made beautiful village houses that lined Virginia Street.
