As part of the Thursday Night Lecture Series at Fairchild Tropical Garden, Miami Historian Arva Moore Parks will speak on George Merrick, the father of Coral Gables.
Arva, award-winning historian, preservationist, and author, used primary sources and previously unpublished photographs to reveal George Merrick's world, showing how his century-old vision still influences today's development and architecture in her new book, "George Merrick, Son of the South Wind: Visionary Creator of Coral Gables."
The event is Thursday, February 11 from 6 to 9 pm.
