Beaux Arts Festival winding down Sunday at UM

The Beaux Arts Festival is back this weekend on the grounds of the University of Miami, it's right across the highway from Coconut Grove and it's worth the trip. There's plenty of free parking and admission is free. We had bad weather on Sunday morning, but it should clear up by last morning and be cooler and sunny and nice.

After a day of rain and wind and a morning of pea soup fog, it turned out to be a perfect day - pleasant with a bright blue sky.
All your food favorites are there - conch fritters, gyros, ice cream, lemonade, and more. And of course there is lots of art to see as you wind around the lakeside paths.
We always run into people we know from the Grove. Miami's oldest  art show is continuing Sunday, January 17 from 10 an to 5 pm.
The 65th Annual Beaux Arts Festival of Art features over 220 fine art exhibitors. The festival features live music on the Main-stage tent, the UHealth Family Fun Zone and a variety of dining options, making this event ideal not just for art enthusiasts but for families as well. We watched a fun clown show that was meant for kids, but adults loved it, too.

Coconut Grove Art Festival could learn a lot from this show.

Bigger is not always better, 220 artists is more than enough and it is easier to return to a favorite when it isn't almost a mile away from where you might be.

No loud raucous music allowing you to talk to the artists and enjoy the art in a nice atmosphere.

Parking and admission are free. (while I understand the Grove cannot have free parking, it would be nice not to be gouged on higher rates than usual.)

The quality at Beaux Arts is equal to the Grove show.

For two people to go to the Grove show, between tickets and parking, it costs $50 and all you have done is walk through the gate You can buy art for that price.
