Some storm damage

Through wind, hail, sleet, rain . . . well, that's the post office, but it's Harry Gottlieb, too. Harry's been known to ride 55 miles a day or more and Sunday was no exception. That nasty band of rain couldn't keep Harry away from his long distance ride, but perhaps these trees will?

A couple of trees on Grand Avenue were damaged and fell down during the storm, I'm assuming the street will be cleared shortly.

There was an empty parking space in front of New Age Piercing, so people were maneuvering around the tree via the parking space.

It's all cleaned up now, the Fire Station #8 came in and did their thing. Nothing more to see folks, keep on moving.

Not long ago many folks commented about saving the trees AND EVERY BRANCH, and how taxpayers dollars went to private interest in partnership with Mark Sarnoff and David Collins, the BID Director, who were in collectively scamming us Grove residents. Now that Mark & David are gone there's no one left to hire appropriate qualified professional arborest to determine in advance what trees need to be trimmed or removed before someone gets injured or killed. In addition David Collins of BID had grading placed around our Grove trees so that rain water seeped into the root system of these trees drastically increasing the health of numerous trees. The branch was just way too long and needed trimming for this not to happen. Good thing there was no car parked under it or driving under it at the time.

A tree is not stupid to the point it grows "way too long" and needs trimming. Trained abortionist can easily detect ROT. Any slightly educated person who looks at this tree can easily determine a "LEAK" caused this branch to become rotten, and weaken its ability to thrive. If inspections of our Grove trees were continued this branch would have been cut away like gangrene from a human branch; leg or arm. This isn't rocket science, a child could see the rot in this tree branch, on a main roadway, downtown Coconut Grove, where folks walk pushing baby carriages.
