New street project starts Monday

Work on a 12 inch water main will begin Monday, August 3 at South Bayshore Drive and McFarlane Road, at the big curve. So it might be best to avoid that area for awhile. Work is only allowed Monday through Thursday.

At no time will access be obstructed for emergency vehicles, local access to the Sailing Club or parking including access to the east sidewalk, known as the Commodore Trail, for bikers.

Working hours are 8 am to 6 pm. Construction for this project will take six weeks or less unless something unforeseen happens.

This is a relatively small job approximately 500 feet in length that connects two water mains around the bend near the horseshoe area. Looping the system helps  maintain water quality and helps with fire water flow.

Could this have something to do with the restaurant moving into The Glass House?

No. It's been in the works for many years.
