The next Coconut Grove Bike Tour is Saturday, May 23. The free tour starts off at City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive at 9:30 am and goes until noon.
Wartime Grove is the theme. Learn about Grovites and the roles they played at various times in US history including the bloody, unpopular Seminole Wars of the region in the mid 1800s, see Dinner Key's renowned Flying Aces of World War I and hear about the massive counterculture protests at Peacock Park during the Vietnam Conflict and how it all affected the Grove in their own particular way. Though it all, we'll discover these difficult times molded the true spirit, independance, and quirky character the district is famous for.
