Eastern Air Lines revival seeks flight attendants

The new Eastern Air Lines is looking for flight attendants. The new airline will be based in Miami.

A recruiting session is taking place Saturday November 22 and Sunday November 23. You must be 21. The airline will be a charter airline until it is certified by the FAA. They plan to start flying in 2015.

Applicants must first fill in an online form and then if accepted, there will be a an in person interview process.

Eastern was one of the big four airlines you might remember. It started in 1930 and went out of business in 1991. 

“We are extremely impressed with the operating cost benefits of the MRJ with the geared turbofan engine, which reduces seat mile costs almost to the level of current 130-seater aircraft,” Edward J. Wegel, Eastern Air Lines Group President and CEO said. “This provides an excellent scheduling and route network advantage to Eastern as we look to add a second fleet type within five years.”

“In the charter division, we would need up to 10 planes,” Wegel said. Lessors “are the only ones who have used planes, and Boeing and Airbus know where all the used aircraft are.”

New planes will be sought when they are certified.
