A cause to pause; culture at the construction site

I was walking in New York, on the upper east side the other day and I was stopped in my tracks, I think a lot of people were. As you approached E. 51st Street on Lexington Avenue, this was the scene.

There's a small construction project being done on the sidewalk outside Dos Caminos restaurant and as you walk, you come upon these cool black and white affirmations. Culture at the construction site.

The construction company paid the street artist, James De La Vega, to create these. It's really something special to come upon as you're making your way through the city. It does cause you to pause; to stop and reflect.

With the mess all over the Grove from Commodore Plaza and up to Tigertail and SW 27th Avenue, this would be a nice addition to brighten our days.

  1. I think it would be great especially with all the artists here , but I don't think the powers that be would want to pay for it.
