New Miami-based tv series in the works

It's been quiet on the tv front lately since Magic City, Burn Notice and Glades left town. For a while there we were king of the world when it came to these great tv shows. But now there is a new pilot planned staring Paul Giamatti (left) for the FX channel. It's a dramedy based on Charles Willeford's novels called Hoke.

Filming starts in Miami later this year. It sure would be nice to have another tv show filmed in town. As you know, the Expo Center is almost all gone, soon to become a park, so of course the filming would take place elsewhere.

Speaking of Coconut Grove and filming, there's a place in Coconut Grove called Grove Studios. It's 4800 square feet space with soundproof filming areas including a full kitchen for photo shoots or filming. Not the Expo Center, but still a great location. It's located across the highway at 3001 SW 28 Lane.

  1. January 1st there is a new children's show on Nickelodeon called "Every Witch Way" set in Miami but being filmed Nick's studio. Also Disney's Austin & Ally is a successful show running in third season set in Miami. Maybe they should be invited to actually shoot a show here.
