It was a lively mixing of performance art and music

art2
Andres Trujillo played the violin as local artists painted at last night's Gallery Walk. It was all part of Violins and Visions, a performance art piece created by artist Trina Collins. Above are Andres playing and Trina at the easel at right, with Javier Lopez-Resende, Grove photograher, catching all the action.

Joseph Grant, who coordinated the whole performance with Trina Collins, Andres Trujillo, from the Miami Conservatory of Music who co-partnered with the artists for the event, Trina Collins and artist AnnaMaria Windisch-Hunt.

Three young art lovers watch every brush stroke that Theresa Calluori makes. The classical music was so perfect for this art event.

art3
Friends Maggie James and Jerry Wade, who we hadn't seen for awhile, came out for this special performance. There were a lot of familiar faces in the crowd who came out just for this.

As Andres plays, Trina gets inspiration.

art5
Our friends from the Arts Festival Gallery came by to check out the scene.

art6
Sheri Friedman, pretty in purple, got into it, she left her Blu Moon Studio of Art to come out and paint to the classical sounds. At right, Alicia Manning had some young fans who enjoyed watching her work.

art7
Theresa Calluori was inspired to paint this cool fish. This was her finished product.

art8
Trina Collins ended up with this incredible piece as her finished product.

art9
Patrick Manning, who is an accomplished portrait painter can take up to five months to complete a painting, he is very detailed oriented, but he got this piece done in half an hour. If you look closely, you can see it's Jay Pharoah, one of the comedians from the Improv marquee. I thought it was President Obama at first.

The event brought a lot of new faces out for Gallery Walk and many of the other gallery owners left their gallery for a bit to check out the performance. It's something that will be repeated again maybe in other areas of the Grove, so that everyone gets a little piece of culture. As someone told me, it's more than just about the art, it's about the community involvement and the mixing and mingling of friends and the whole live scene.
