Grove restaurants need to wake up

Today in the Grove for lunch you could have had the following:

Eggplant Wraps (with lettuce, black olives, feta cheese and Italian dressing) for $5.00
Pita Veggie (with green and red peppers, chickpeas, cucumber, parsley) for $5.00
Empanadas for $2.00
Pasta Salad with carrots, green salad and juice for $7.00

And this is just a few things offered from Veni Vidi Veggie. Where are they located in the Grove? They aren't in the Grove, but they have guys walking around twice a week, who take orders and deliver at these reasonable prices. They are actually located on NW 29 Street and 79th Avenue.

It's not legal to stop them from taking business away from local restaurants, so maybe Coconut Grove restaurants should join them. Do the same thing, hand out menus and deliver to the local businesses and residents.

I suggest the Subway on US1.

The prices are fair and it seems to attract a good mix of locals.

You can even order online and pick up.

i keep thinking we need a scooter/moped delivery guy/company that will deliver from all the restaurants in the grove. charge a fee to the restaurants, maybe 5% or something per order, and just hustle around the grove during lunch and dinner hours.

something quick, and easy to order from (online?) 2 people could run this business easily.

does veni vidi veggie place have a website? :-)

Tony: We have a Subway right here in the Beautiful Town of Coconut Grove. Why not shop at our own restaurants?? Keep the $$ local, plus they are very nice and sweet in there.

There is a delivery service that goes to various restaurants to pick up food and deliver. You can order online, or by phone as far as 30 days in advance. There is a $5.99 delivery fee and a $15 minimum, but it's very reliable.
www.DeliverAndToGO.com or call: 305-819-8500. And no, I don't work for them, I just really like convenience and the queso dip from Chili's :-)

I was craving key lime pie today, so I decided to try Chicago's Bakery...and had to walk out when I found out they wanted $6 for a small, single slice of key lime pie. Does that mean for a standard nine-inch, 10 piece key-lime pie they'd charge me $60? I ended up satisfying my citrus craving w/a lemon-flavored yogurbella, for $3.20 w/Code 33.

Sailfast, both Subways are in Coconut Grove. I eat at whichever one I happen to be closer to. The US1 store has a large dining area inside and out.
