Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization is conducting its inaugural "Miami Walk to Empower" on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 14, 2006. This event presents an opportunity for the South Florida community to come together and make a difference in the lives of those touched by breast cancer. All local proceeds from the Walk will benefit Y-ME's programs and services offered free-of-charge to those seeking information and support in the face of breast cancer.

On Mother's Day 2006, nearly 40,000 participants of Y-ME's Mother's Day Events will walk in communities nationwide to help ensure that no one faces breast cancer alone carrying on Y-ME's truly meaningful and deeply empowering Mother's Day tradition.

The walk starts at Coconut Grove's Kennedy Park (2200 S. Bayshore Drive).
