Four Shilling Short but full of talent

Four Shillings Short will be performing traditional and original music from the Celtic Lands, Medieval and Renaissance Europe, India and the Americas at The Barnacle on Saturday, January 11.

The husband/wife duo of Aodh Og O’Tuama from Cork, Ireland and Christy Martin from California, have been performing together since 1995, tour in the US and Ireland, are independent folk-artists with 12 recordings, perform 150 concerts a year and live as the Troubadours of old traveling from town to town playing their music for all to enjoy.

They play over thirty instruments including hammered and mountain dulcimer, mandolin, mandola, bouzouki, tinwhistles, recorders, Medieval and Renaissance woodwinds, Native American flutes, North Indian sitar, charango, bowed psaltery, banjo, bodhran, guitar, ukelele, doumbek, percussion, vocals and even a krumhorn.

Purchase tickets at the gate beginning at 6:30 pm and enjoy a live performance from 7 to 9 pm. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for members of The Barnacle Society, $3 for children ages 6 to 9, and free for children under 6. Park nearby and stroll down the tree-lined path to the spacious front lawn. Bring folding chairs and a rolling cooler and arrive early to choose the best spot for a picnic with friends. No pets, please.
