Give Miami Day. Really?
The appalling part is that most of these places are money making ventures/businesses. They are not charities.
They should be ashamed of themselves. Diseases, cancer, food kitchens, legal aid, veterans groups, etc. are charities. Bike groups, festivals and galleries are NOT charities. Neither are private clubs that collect dues and have restricted memberships or Chambers of Commerce. And the Underline for gods sake, they keep asking for donations. Doesn't the Underline have like $100 million already?

Yeah, but you can search by the 33133 ZIP code and find REAL charities right in the Grove that are helping Grove residents and animals. It's not all bad, and Give Miami Day runs until midnight tonight. Check it out at GiveMiamiDay.org.
You cast a bad light on a great community initiative, unnecessarily so. This is a time when we come together to support great things that people do. Charity does not need to be about disease and veterans only.
The Grape is clearly not casting a bad light on charities, but on greed.
