Target is coming to the Grove; well sort of

Target is coming to the Grove. Well sort of. The are said to leasing one third of the Coconut Grove Metrorail station project. That's that big thing you see being built at the 27th Avenue station. Target will take almost 50,000 square feet of the total 135,000 square feet of retail space at the project.

The Grove fought for years to keep big box stores out and it looks like our friendly neighborhood developers will have them creep in as close as possible.

Terra Group and Grass River Property are the developers.

There is nothing wrong with the Target location or even Home Depot. Progress is good for the community. If it was up to you, you would not have running water or electricity.

The Grove along US1 is completely different than Cocowalk and parts south. Let's not clutch our pearls as if this is paving over the cemeteries in the West Grove and replacing them with Waffle Houses.

what are the chances that the Freebe shuttle could extend to the Coconut Grove station?

We go to Target down by Kendall. What with Shell Lumber, Home Depot and now Target, plus our several food markets, we won't have to waste time in traffic.
