Trees can calm drivers down

This is Ingraham Highwy in the 1950s, but it could possibly be Main Highway near St. Hugh Catholic Church. Either way, with all the destruction of green space here in Coconut Grove, this area looks quite the same.

I read recently that a University of Florida study says that trees planted along highways survive quite well, which is proof from this photo, but also the study says the trees enhance the experience for drivers, the report says, "There is research that shows folks who drive along tree-lined roadways have less stress compared to those navigating the concrete jungle without that green breakup.”

That drive also has a lot of schools which can be frustrating during drop off and pick up times, so it's nice to know that the trees are making things a bit less stressful during that time.
