Scooters have been around for awhile
Have you seen the new scooters around town lately? They are up from just a few companies to quite a few now, I see orange ones, and bright yellow ones and red ones and the black Bird ones and there's a new more upscale looking green one. But scooters aren't new. Here are a couple of ladies in Miami in 1935.
Here in 1916 is suffragette, English socialite and activist Florence Priscilla, Lady Norman, who was given this Autoped as a birthday present by her husband, Sir Henry Norman. She used it to travel to her office in central London.

A man riding around in 1920.
Then there is this. A friend sent me this over the weekend. This was the scene in Center Grove. When people do less than smart things like this, it hurts the scooter lobby because there are so many people that went the scooters gone and if the pilot program doesn't work out, they will be gone, especially if neighbors complain.
I have another friend who is thinking about writing for the Grapevine. He tells me one of his first articles will be anti-scooter; he does not like them and wants them gone. That's completely the opposite of my feelings regarding the scooters, so when he turns his story in, I'll post it and we'll see what he has to say.
