Meh, it's lobster mini-season

It's lobster mini-season. I see a bunch of boats out in the bay, people trying to catch lobster. Many of them doing it illegally.

I'm not sure what the attraction is unless they are doing it illegally for profit. At six small lobsters per person and all the expense of rigging a boat, gassing it up, getting it out there, missing a day or two of work, isn't it easier to just go out for a $20 lobster meal?

I guess it's the sport, but I have seen so many poachers.

We had an easement next door and a couple of years ago, as I drove up, I saw a bunch of guys coming out of the easement with coolers. They were handing them off to a few guys in a van. I yelled at them to, "Get out of here!" And the van sped off and some guys ran back into the easement - to their boat which was waiting in the bay. I didn't understand what was going on at first, then realized they were handing off all those illegal lobsters to the guys in the van, then getting back into the boat and coming in to the marina with their "legally caught small catch of the day."

The limits are six per person, per day, for Biscayne National Park, and 12 per person per day for the rest of Florida. There were about seven guys, that would be 42 lobster legally, how many did they have for them to have to poach?

I've never liked the lobster hunters since then. Our world is all about greed. Everything. It's disappointing.
