'Grove Green' workshop at Woman's Club
Coconut Grove has a “Grove Green” idea for the future to make the Grove an environmentally friendly place to live with lots of trees, bike paths, clean energy sources, clean beaches, clean Biscayne Bay, and clean water. Overall, to use products that are sustainable and reduce waste. Recycling is an ongoing improvement issue. This workshop is the start for eco-friendly restaurant awareness.
The workshop starts at 6:30 pm. Everyone is invited from 16 years-old and up.
Jason Koch, from Surfrider, will explain the Ocean Friendly Restaurant program that assists restaurants that want to replace their single use plastic ware and replace it with alternative products.
After this short training class, you will have the tools you need to confidently pair off with friends for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack (or happy hours) and observe the restaurants you visit.
By the end of summer, our communities will be more aware of the “Plastic Free Initiative” movement to becoming eco-friendly. You will have made a difference for our marine life, our coastal shores, and ecosystems.
The Woman's Club is at 2985 S. Bayshore Drive.
