Ruth Gilmore featured at Arts Festival Gallery
The Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery is featuring Ruth Gilmore's work this month. Saturday night from 6 to 9 pm is a premier party for "Free: The USA Series."
The exhibit will be at the gallery from March 2 through April 20.
"I paint in search of my country," says Ruth. For almost 20 years she has been painting abstract images of America.
After experiencing the severe trauma of the attack on 9/11, and too many other tragedies, she paints to initiate healing. Each painting is a journey to feel the heartbeat of the USA.
"Beautiful landscapes, the complex cities, the small towns, the open oceans and great lakes. The people, the love, the paint. The pulse and the fear through colros, abstract shapes and forms, I set out to claim and connect with our country, says Ruth.
The gallery is at 3390 Mary Street, suite 128.
