Many Grovites constantly & justifiably lament about the loss of the old Grove, or its romantic interpretation(s). One example that sticks in my crawl are speeding vehicles down Center Groves narrow back streets and vehicles blocking or partially blocking our roadways causing people who are walking either their pets while pushing baby carriages, one or the other, are forced into our roadways into traffic. Rude, RUDE AND DOWN RIGHT RUDE. BUT, this picture captures a fact about our so called new Grove, a reality. There's all nationalities, gender & age groups doing this. So much so that this picture, in part personifies this reality; Perhaps THE NEW GROVE? In other words there should be an extremely vocal outcry, wherever and whenever possible to our elected officials to demand law enforcement with radar to enforce a need for traffic enforcement with tickets and court dates. Hell, the City of Miami could make a fortune creating an extremely enforceable & legal GROVE WIDE road trap, WHILE protecting men & women pushing baby carriages, pet walkers and the rest of us. That's what was said "A beautiful Grove Sunday" that could be translated into a beautiful Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Respectful of all pedestrians, morning, noon & night for all pedestrians. Now, there's some baggage. Don't be short sighted by one tranquil picture. Make it a reality for all the people, all the time.

How many times have you heard "Good Morning, How U Doing" "Fine, How U" "Fine". That's not much baggage. But, it's a lot of baggage to certain mentalities to say and mean protect the Grove pedestrians come hell or high water. Virginia Grovite, is it to much baggage to expect safety enforcement of our traffic laws, women, children, men and our pets or is it F - - K U get out of my way and don't brother me?

A woman running while pushing a child on a main thoroughfare in Coconut Grove IS the personification of something extremely desirable in any community, anywhere on this planet. Not only that moment in time, but if you blow this picture up you'll see that everyone else are displaying kudos as the runner salutes their attention & approval. This picture should represent our Grove on the Coconut Grove Art Show poster. This picture does up proud, great representation of our Grove. Jobie Steppe
