'An Enchanged Barnyard Evening'
CGC is a not for profit organization dedicated to building a better community for the children and families in Village West Coconut Grove. Founded 70 years ago by Elizabeth Virrick and Father Theodore Gibson, CGC responds to the changing needs of the community through educational programs, social services and outreach initiatives that take place at The Barnyard Community Center.
Tickets are $75 each, plus a $4.22 fee, which may be purchased here.
100% of the proceeds from "An Enchanted Barnyard Evening" will go directly to fund The Barnyard, which offers free After-School and Summer Programs for children ages 5-12, and provides a much needed safe haven for neighborhood children. Over 200 children benefit from the Barnyard’s programs, which focus on education, cultural enrichment and parental engagement. Families of these children rely on the Barnyard for vital social and legal services, such as housing assistance, job searching, and family counseling.
Children who attend the Barnyard's after school and summer programs benefit from homework help, tutoring, nutrition lessons, psychological counseling, literacy activities, chess, dance, music, computer lab, art, field trips and physical education. The Kampong hosts interactive workshops where Barnyard children learn the basics of botany and horticulture while spending afternoons in The Kampong garden.
The Kampong is located at 4013 Douglas Road.
