Update on the tree ordinance issue
The issue has been removed from the Jan. 10 meeting due to outrage by residents. It will be revisited (probably when no one is watching), so let's stay vigilant.
Commissioner Reyes' Chief of Staff Steven Ferreiro called me late Saturday, I guess the Commissioner can't speak for himself. I ended up calling Steven an a-hole and hung up the phone after Steven was quite condescending, combative and rude. Those days are over. I will not be yelled at like I used to be in other administrations from some lackey at a commissioner's office. No more.
To be fair to him, he says the City Manager placed the item on the agenda without Reyes' office's knowledge. He also stated that the item will be revisited and that outrage from residents was not the reason for them removing it from the January 10 meeting.
The point is, the issue will be on the agenda at some point. And residents ARE OUTRAGED. Our Facebook page is off the hook with comments against the less than smart issue. LEAVE THE TREES ALONE.
I find it hard to believe that items are put on the agenda just for the hell of it. I choose to believe all of your calls and emails was the reason for the removal, his tone of voice led me to believe this, too. The fact remains, and from Steven's mouth - the issue will be revisited. Why?
