Village Council throws successful Costume Gala
“It was great fun for a good cause,” said Village Council chair Marcelo Fernandes. Several good causes, in fact. The beneficiaries of the funds raised by the event are Coconut Grove Cares, Miami Waterkeeper, the SEED School, and the Thelma Gibson Health Initiative.
People really went out of their way to get into the spirit with excellent, well thought out costumes. The Cruz building itself is a perfect setting for a fancy dress ball, it has an almost Gothic feel to it.
The Village Council anticipates this will be an annual event—and one of the Grove's new signature events.
